AP Government Speeds Up Polavaram Project Construction
The Andhra Pradesh government has accelerated work on the Polavaram Irrigation Project, with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directing officials to complete pending works within the revised timelines. During a review meeting, he instructed departments to closely monitor construction, ensure quality standards, and remove bottlenecks affecting progress.
The government said the project remains a top priority because it is expected to enhance irrigation, provide drinking water, support flood management, and improve agricultural productivity across several districts. Officials have also been asked to expedite rehabilitation and resettlement measures while ensuring timely completion of critical project components.
