M. Jayakrishna Takes Charge as New Tirupati Municipal Commissioner
New commissioner promises target-driven, time-bound administration and seeks public cooperation for the city's development.
TIRUPATI, AUGUST 16, 2026: M. Jayakrishna assumed charge as the new Municipal Corporation Commissioner of Tirupati on Saturday.
Following his assumption of office, Vedic scholars offered blessings to the newly appointed commissioner.
WHAT HAPPENED
Speaking after taking charge, Jayakrishna said he felt privileged to serve Tirupati, describing it as a sacred pilgrimage city and expressing his desire to work with the blessings of Lord Venkateswara.
He said municipal administration was a continuous process and that identifying and resolving public issues would be among his priorities.

Jayakrishna said he would work with:
Clear development targets
Time-bound action plans
Greater coordination among Corporation staff
Focus on resolving public grievances
Overall development of Tirupati
He emphasised the need for officials and staff to work collectively to address issues affecting residents.
APPEAL TO CITIZENS
The new commissioner appealed to the people of Tirupati to extend their cooperation to the municipal administration as the Corporation works towards improving the city's development and civic services.

Additional Commissioner Sarada Devi, Deputy Commissioner Amaraiah, Superintending Engineer Shyam Sundar, Municipal Engineers Thulasi Kumar and Gomati, Health Officer Dr Yuva Anvesh Reddy and other officials were present during the occasion.
