ELURU, August 15, 2026: Andhra Pradesh Police Sub-Inspector V. Venkateswara Rao, attached to the Eluru Rural Police Station, marked Independence Day in an unusual way by successfully climbing Mount Elbrus in Russia and unfurling the national flag at the summit.

Venkateswara Rao reached the summit at 8 AM IST on Saturday, according to the report, and displayed a 100-metre-long national flag along with the Tricolour.
