Two Buses Collide in Suryapet, Three Injured

Suryapet, August 16, 2026: Three people suffered minor injuries after an APSRTC bus collided with a private travel bus near Akupamula in Munagala mandal of Telangana’s Suryapet district, according to the source report.

The accident involved around 63 passengers across the two buses. Despite the severity of the collision, only three people were reported to have sustained minor injuries.

Driver Fatigue Suspected

Police suspect that driver drowsiness may have contributed to the accident. The APSRTC bus driver became trapped inside the vehicle following the collision.

Police, fire service personnel and teams working along NH-65 rushed to the scene and began rescue operations.

Under the supervision of Munagala Sub-Inspector Sanjeev Reddy, rescuers reportedly worked for around two hours to free the trapped driver from the bus.

Authorities are continuing to assess the circumstances surrounding the crash.
