VIJAYAWADA, August 15, 2026: Andhra Pradesh Human Resources Development and IT Minister Nara Lokesh has reviewed preparations for the state's Job Calendar 2026 recruitment process, with the government now planning to issue the second-phase notification for 3,168 government vacancies on September 15.
The notification had originally been scheduled for August 15 but was postponed because of technical issues concerning the implementation of Presidential Orders and representations received from employee associations.
WHAT HAPPENED
The Andhra Pradesh government announced a four-phase recruitment programme covering 10,060 government vacancies under Job Calendar 2026.
The first phase was already announced on May 15 and covers the recruitment of 1,523 faculty members across various universities.
The second phase will cover 3,168 posts, while the remaining vacancies will be addressed through subsequent phases.
RECRUITMENT SCHEDULE
According to the latest reported schedule:
Phase 1: 1,523 faculty posts
Phase 2: 3,168 posts
Phase 3: 2,388 posts
Phase 4: 2,981 posts
Total: 10,060 vacancies
The third and fourth phases are planned to be covered through a combined notification scheduled for October 15.
NARA LOKESH'S DIRECTION
During a review of the recruitment preparations, Lokesh directed officials to ensure that the notification is legally sound and free of errors so that recruitment does not face avoidable disputes.
The review comes as the government works to implement its broader recruitment calendar across departments.
BACKGROUND
The Job Calendar 2026 was announced as a structured recruitment programme covering vacancies in areas including government services, education, police and engineering-related posts. Reports on the original announcement put the total number of vacancies at 10,060.
Education and recruitment remain major areas of Lokesh's ministerial responsibilities. The state has also scheduled DSC 2026 teacher recruitment for October, according to the earlier AP TET announcement.
