The state cabinet approved a new IT policy that positions Visakhapatnam as the technology capital of Andhra Pradesh. Companies setting up offices in the city will get rent subsidies for three years, discounted power tariffs and fast-track approvals.
The policy targets 50,000 direct IT jobs in three years. Officials said several mid-size product companies have already shown interest in the Millennium Towers and Rushikonda IT hills.
